About Fruits in Suits®

Fruits, as it’s fondly known, has been running in Sydney since 1996 and is the original of many so-named events in the Asia-Pacific.

It’s our monthly social networking event held on the third Thursday of every month between 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. We welcome members of the LGBTIQ community and their allies to all its events.

Fruits in Suits is attended by over 200 individuals every month, including entrepreneurs, business owner/operators, professionals and more.

Book Launches

Our events provide authors, publishers and all businesses a unique way to reach a range of LGBTIQ community members through regular events like Fruits in Suits and Lemons with a Twist.

In the past Authors have provided signed copies of their books as prizes.

The Bookshop Darlinghurst has worked with a number of authors and publishers to connect them with the Sydney professional LGBTIQ community at SGLBA events. 


A small business owner is provided with space to showcase her products and receives additional promotion as photographs are shared on Facebook following the event.



When the SBS wanted to reach LGBTIQ business owners, they presented at the SGLBA’s Fruits in Suits.

Business owner Adam Bold (L) provides specific events targeting the LGBTIQ community. Points of Difference supports the SGLBA membership with door prizes and promotional offers at discounted rates.

Local business owners & Artists


Sponsors are provided with a high traffic location at the venue to display their products or as a location for members and guests to speak with your team.


Audiovisual support carries a mixture of photographs from previous events mixed with partner and sponsor messages


When LGBTIQ human rights activist and Star Strek legend George Takei came to Australia, promoters reach out to the SGLBA with ticket prizes and exposure to our Sydney community.

Community Organisations

Queer Screen provides tickets to their various screenings as door prizes to help promote their various festivals.
