A common theme for growing businesses is leaders need to give up control, start focusing on the bigger picture, and identify and develop successors.
A second theme is that they need to start creating more formal systems for tasks like hiring and developing people and managing performance.
A third theme is that they want to consciously create particular cultures (e.g., high performance, innovative) – it takes a psychologist to understand how to effectively achieve this. We love working with start-ups and medium-sized businesses and helping them scale up.
Networking is essential for any business to grow, because business development is all about relationship building. LGBTQi-owned and -run businesses may feel comfortable working with someone who understands what its like to stand out from the crowd, visibly or not.
I joined SGLBA to enhance the prominence of my business and give back to my community. Its also a great way to create a social network of like-minded people.
