The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association, a volunteer-led, Not-For-Profit organisation established in 1981, helps connect Community to Business. We are seeking applications from individuals interested in the following positions:

Treasurer (This position has been filled)
The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial affairs and compliance of the association. The organisation’s financial management is directly tied to the Treasurer’s responsibilities. The Treasurer’s execution of his / her responsibilities will have a strong impact on the perception, trust, and confidence in which the association is held. Financial literacy, attention to detail, timeliness in completing tasks, clear and accurate record keeping, and a willingness to ask questions are essential.
Finance Board Associate
Objective of this role is to be in charge of the bookkeeping and record keeping of events and financial statistics. It also entails assisting Treasurer in financial report generation, analysis and reconciliation. Active participation in the financial operations will also be needed as part of the training to be 2IC to the treasurer.
Member Services Board Associate
The Member Services Board Associate will provide essential services to SGLBA members and the Board. In particular, the role will maintain the SGLBA’s internal CRM and administer elements of benefits and services available to SGLBA members.
Secretariat Board Associate
Working with the Secretary, you will play a critical role in reviewing and finalising papers, co-ordinating meetings, as well as taking and settling minutes for the Board and its Committees and the Annual General Meeting.
You will also manage registers and records of the SGLBA, attend and contribute in Board meetings, and be involved in reviewing and maintaining business policies.
Ideally you will have an interest in, or be studying, corporate governance, law or a related discipline and/or have some basic understanding of corporate governance and directors’ duties.
You should possess good verbal and written communication skills and some experience in reviewing, preparing and disseminating Board and Committee materials and minute taking would be desirable.
However, key to this role is an inquisitive mind, good research and organisational skills as well as the ability to work well with a small team to deliver outcomes for the Association.
