The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) joins the NSW Business Chamber (NSWBC) as an Association member.
President, Mark Haines says,
“The Association membership with the NSW Business Chamber provides a number of benefits to SGLBA members who join up under SGLBA’s membership. Not least is a 20% discount off any level of membership to the NSW Business Chamber. Additionally though, it provides our members with an unparalleled opportunity to promote their business to an entirely new group of people, and importantly, beyond the LGBTI community. Similarly, SGLBA’s profile will be promoted to NSWBC members, who will be invited to attend SGLBA networking functions to promote their businesses to our members.”
“There is not an ‘LGBTI’ business community and a ‘straight’ business community. There is one business community, and it’s essential that members of that community have the opportunity to maximise their engagement with it. Membership of the NSW BC provides that opportunity.”
Mark Stedfut, General Manager, Member Services at the NSW Business Chamber, says,
“We are pleased to welcome SGLBA to the Business Chamber movement. As the state’s peak business support organisation, NSWBC is dedicated to helping businesses grow and prosper, by providing networking, expert advice and advocacy on issues that affect business growth. NSW Business Chamber is also a leader in workplace advice. We are excited to be working with SGLBA and look forward to supporting their members.”
SGLBA will be hosting a free information breakfast in mid-September, where interested parties can attend to hear more about this, and other outstanding SGLBA member opportunities. Make sure you’re subscribed to SGLBA newsletters to stay updated.

About the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association
Established in 1981 The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) was the first LGBTIQ Business Association in Australia. It was established as a safe place for LGBTIQ business people to meet like-minded professionals during a time when being LGBTIQ was still a criminal offence.
SGLBA provides opportunities to learn, network and promote services from the LGBTIQ community and its allies. We do this by delivering a diversity of events, services, opportunities, and partnerships – either directly, or by partnering with other organisations.
